Networking tool to reconnect alumni

I just received an email from my old fraternity (Sigma Alpha Mu, if you're curious) promoting a networking tool they're calling Six Degrees of SAM.

I've embedded the promotional video below - it's a great concept. I looks like it serves two goals:

  1. As an alum, I'd like to reconnect to some of my old friends from college and this gives me a way to do that - creating warm fuzzies for the old fraternity.
  2. For the fraternity, it's a way to leverage my desire in item 1 to help build their email list and bring lost sheep back into the fold.

(This is from another fraternity, obviously. For some reason SAM put theirs behind a login gate)

I'm having a difficult time figuring out who is providing this program. My best guess is a company called Six Degrees (based on the URL of the landing page). However, if I strip out the SAM-related items of the URL it goes to a page that says "Hello!"

Google brings up a charity run by Kevin Bacon or a social networking site that requires a login before they'll tell me about themselves (riiiight! I'll give you my email, then you'll tell me who you are).

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Update:

The URL with the Six Degrees platform is owned by a company called Pursuant Group. They have a division called Unifyer that specializes in social media programs for fraternities. I left a message for one of their sales team to get more info.
